Your Week in Brews

Your Week in Brews

We're going big on Pomona Island with lots of new lines hitting our fridges and taps later this week, so we thought we'd offer a little Pomo Promo - buy 4 or more Pomona Island cans and receive 10% OFF. Online offer only - ends midnight 21st Sep.
Pomo Promo
THIS WEEK AT THE SHOPS
At Hitchin we're taking the plunge, or rather tapping a trio of modern classics in the cask cabinet - yep, fresh CASK beer ready to serve up this Friday night! If you missed cask beer over the past couple of years as much as we have, pop in to sink a couple pints of: Thornbridge Jaipur 5.9% IPA, Chiltern Beechwood Best Bitter 4.3% & Fyne Ales Jarl 3.8% blonde ale.
Meanwhile at St Albans we'll be pouring Pomona Island on tap alongside lots of new cans hitting our fridges… On keg at StA: Factotum 4% NEPA, Boppers, Stay Tuned 4.7% DDHNEPA, Starfish On The Toast 6.5% DDHNEIPA & Drums Please 7.1% WCIPA. On cask: Cruffatin 4.1% bitter & Spadra 4.8% WC pale.
Hot Drops & Hype Tins

Track's All That Awaits 8.5% gold top NEDIPA smashed all those tropical smoothie expectations at Hitchin during the nationwide tap launch last Friday, it’s now available by the tin for anybody who couldn’t squeeze in a cheeky third.

Burnt Mill are taking us on another excursion with Horizon Point 6.4% NEIPA, using a different strain of yeast and combining Citra, Simcoe, Cashmere, & Bru-1.

They’ve also spent some time collaborating as guests at Newbarns Brewery on a, you guessed it, lager. West Coast Pils 6.5% is a combination of both brewery’s strengths. Newbarns have also released Hána Lager, a 5.5% helles.

We’ve a bunch of fruit forward sours worth mentioning too: Brick Brewery x Pastore - Two Ways 5.7% sour IPA & Pomegranate & Orange Peel 3.6% kettle sour.

On the distinctly pastry side of things Brew York - Le Mon Le Mon 7.5% lemon kettle sour & Jackie Flan 7.5% berry pastry sour.

Confusingly, we're due the Neon Raptor brewed Dinosaur Tea Party, a Vault City Brewing collaboration tea infused NEIPA 6.8% - not to be confused with Dinosaur Tea Party brewed at Vault City in collaboration with Neon Raptor. There's also Boombox Rascal 6.4% NEIPA that's using Citra, Simcoe, & Galaxy to pair all the tropical and pine aromas with stone fruity tasting goodness.

And those Pomona Island beers we mentioned earlier, right here: HMS Thunderchild 10% NETIPA, There Wolf 8.2% NEDIPA, Starfish On The Toast 6.5% DDHNEIPA, Boppers, Stay Tuned 4.7% DDHNEPA, Sploice 5% pastry sour, Silflay Hraka, U Embleer Rah! 7.5% sour IPA. All due at the end of this week so keep your eyes peeled 👀.

There’s also a handful of new and restocked Hammerton & Villages tins for keeping your fridge topped up.

New York's premier haze merchants, Other Half Brewing Company, are dropping NEXT WEEK - lines to be announced

Cellar Stock & Wilds

USA DARKNESS

Three beers, three Beer Shop debuts from internationally renowned breweries. (Arriving Thur 16th Sep)

Ninkasi Brewing Company - Oatis 7% oatmeal stout is a staple of one of America's most established craft breweries, based in Oregon since 2006. Whilst this version hasn't seen any wood, it's the kind of beer that could happily chill in a cellar and mellow for some time.

Space Music 11.9% BA blend imperial milk stout from Breakside Brewery, another OR beer establishment, is a blend of not one but three big base stouts that have absorbed bourbon richness. Think boozy pastry flavours, chocolate, caramel, coffee, but without their ingredient additions.

Fremont Brewing, extends a theme of malt forward timelessness with B-Bomb 2020 12.8% blended bourbon BA winter ale. An annual Seattle release that avoids trendy adjuncts for complex malt character and depth imparted by barrel ageing and blending.

MORE WILDS

In perfect opposition to the American stock coming in this week are a couple of Emperor's Brewery collaboration releases with Neon Raptor Defeat The Rancor maple pecan imperial danish pastry stout 13% & Low Key Barrel Project bottle Dusting Crops 11% Wild Turkey BA vanilla, chocolate, and tonka imperial stout.

We've also some very small batch, genre defying sourness from Donzoko in the form of Tied Vines, a 7.9% farmhouse saison, grapey/wine hybrid.

Thornbridge 375ml bottles of The Heart Desires & Days Of Creation have also reemerged after a pandemic related hiatus.

Cider lovers can also rejoice - we're getting in Little Pomona Hard Rains: Ghost Perry, Quince, & Hopped. Somerset Redstreak 6.7% wild cider aged in ex-chardonnay barrels is also joining the fresh releases.
