The return of a Pentrich classic first brewed in 2016! A naturally hazy and super hoppy antipodean pale ale packed full of Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka hops. Expect huge flavours of citrus and tropical fruits and dank resinous notes on the finish to complement the moderate bitterness.
Our first store opened in 2013 right in the heart of this bustling market city. We showcase an extensive range of modern craft beer, traditional ales & lagers, world class foreign beers and a small but carefully curated selection of natural wines, ciders and spirits. Enjoy a cold one from our fridges, or choose from the all-star 10 tap lineup, all available to drink in or take away!
Opening times
Below is a live list of beers that we currently have in stock in St Albans. If you'd like to reserve a specific beer for collection, then please call 01727 842598 and we'll be happy to put it behind the counter for you to come by and pick up.
Our shops have a range of taps with continually changing cask and keg beer to drink in, or take home in 1 or 2 litre sizes and occasionally 500ml bottles. We fill one-way disposable containers (included in the prices below) or reusable growlers, both available in store. Tap take home beer is best enjoyed as fresh as possible, ideally within 2-3 days.

Running Porter
The Kernel Brewery
From The Kernel:
Running Porter is a beer designed to pair with British territorial cheeses. It's a 5.6% ABV porter, brewed with a blend of Maris Otter, brown, black, chocolate, crystal, and flaked barley malts, and hopped with East Kent Goldings and Bramling Cross. The beer is inspired by the historical "running" beers of the 18th and 19th centuries, which were meant to be enjoyed fresh, unlike "keeping" beers that were aged. This freshness makes it a great match for young, crumbly territorial cheeses

A drop of lactose tempers the ferocity and makes each sip as sweet, soft and velvety smooth as latte milk steamed by a master barista.
